After a successful 35-year career in wealth management, Kevin Stapleton retired to Pebble Beach, California, where he had built his dream home. His professional journey in sales and marketing at IBM began directly after graduating from university. He dedicated nearly five years to IBM in Los Angeles before transitioning to the financial sector with A.G. Edwards, developing a thriving money-management practice.
He worked at A.G. Edwards for 21 years, a staple in the brokerage industry, until its acquisition by Wachovia Securities, which Wells Fargo shortly after purchased. He then continued his career at Wells Fargo, working out of their Carmel, California, office for nine years. Following this extensive corporate experience, he established Stapleton Wealth Management (SWM), where, for five years, he catered to a select group of high-end clients before retiring to enjoy the life he crafted in Pebble Beach.

At Wealth Management, he offered an extensive array of tailor-made services to affluent and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, encompassing investment management, financial planning, tax planning, risk management, insurance planning, trust and estate planning, and legacy planning. He excelled in growing and securing his clients' wealth, adeptly managing investments to align with their financial goals, risk tolerance, and time frames.
His financial strategies also addressed retirement planning, college savings, and other significant life milestones.
He implemented tax-efficient methods to lessen the burden of taxes on a federal, state, and local level for his clients. He ensured comprehensive protection against various personal and financial risks through well-structured insurance policies.
His expertise also guided clients in formulating strategies to transfer wealth effectively to their heirs and amplify their philanthropic efforts.
The Early Years: From Chicago to Heading Out West
Born on August 30, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, his passion for baseball and his lifelong support for the Chicago Cubs began early. His childhood years were spent in Phoenix, Arizona, and Sacramento and Stockton, California. After completing high school in Stockton, he earned an AA degree from San Joaquin Delta College.
He furthered his education at the University of the Pacific in Stockton before transferring to the University of Southern California (USC), where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.

He and his wife Linda are parents to two sons, Grayson, 27, and Christian, 24. They relish their life in the stunning coastal community of Pebble Beach, nestled between Pacific Grove and Carmel-by-the-Sea, a location celebrated for its breathtaking natural beauty and historic golf courses. Pebble Beach is also the proud host of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a tradition since 1946.
A Passion for Travel, Cooking, and Baseball (The Cubs)
Managing his finances, traveling, cooking, and golfing on Pebble Beach's renowned courses are among his favorite pastimes. He is a devoted baseball fan, making annual visits to Wrigley Field to support the Chicago Cubs, a team celebrated for its historical achievements, including their World Series Championships. His passion extends to other sports as well, notably football, basketball, and hockey, cheering for Chicago teams like the Bears, the Bulls, and the Blackhawks.
Community Is Everything to Kevin Scott Stapleton
Community service is a cornerstone of Kevin Scott Stapleton's life in Pebble Beach. He leads the IHELP program at his church, helping men reintegrate into the workforce and society. He also dedicates Saturdays to feeding people experiencing homelessness at a local park and contributes his time to Carmel Youth Baseball, coaching and guiding young players. As a member of the Carmel Rotary Club, he and his colleagues are committed to enhancing their community through various philanthropic efforts.
